RENO, Nev. The Nevada women’s tennis team won its fourth match in a row with a 4-3 win over Pacific on Sunday at LakeRidge Tennis Club.
The Wolf Pack, ranked No. 66, improved to 7-7 on the year with the victory.
“It is very exciting to win our fourth match in a row,” coach Sylvain Malroux said. “We played a lot of good teams early on and I think that experience is paying off now. We have a lot of momentum going for us.”
Nevada won the doubles point by sweeping all three matches, including an 8-0 win by No. 58 Maria Mizyuk and Caroline Bailly at the No. 1 spot.
In singles play, No. 59 Mizyuk and Bailly cruised to quick straight-set wins to put Nevada up 3-0 and De Vrye clinched the match at the No. 4 spot with a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Alice Hall (No. 3) and Lais Ogata (No. 5) each lost their matches in a super tie-breaker.
