SACRAMENTO, Calif. The Nevada softball team bounced back with a pair of victories at the Capital Classic on Saturday.

The Wolf Pack topped Cal Poly 5-2 and then beat Northern Colorado 9-0 at the event, hosted by Sacramento State.

With the wins, Nevada improved to 20-10 on the season. Nevada will complete play in the tournament on Sunday when it takes on Cal.

Senior Richelle Villescas made her fourth start of the season for Nevada against Northern Colorado and she delivered her fourth complete game and her third shutout. Villescas gave up four hits and struck out three and did not walk a batter in the five-inning victory.

Offensively, freshman Noelle Micka led the way with a 3-for-3 performance. She scored three runs and drove in another and she now leads the team with a .438 batting average. Junior Kym Silagyi went 2-for-2 and drove in a pair of runs.

In the first game against Cal Poly, Katie Holverson tossed a complete game for the Pack. The sophomore gave up 10 hits and just two runs one earned while giving up three walks and striking out three.

Freshman Danielle Patrick went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI while Michelle Beach and Tyler Schafer each had two hits and an RBI.
