West Point, N.Y. At the end of the first day of the NCAA Championship, the University of Nevada rifle team is currently in seventh place after shooting smallbore Friday at West Point, N.Y.

 

Senior Meghann Morrill led the Wolf Pack with a shot of 572. Junior Andrew Hickey shot a 567 while freshman Jessica Klatt and senior Lee Lemenager shot a 564 and 554, respectively.

 

Army’s Chris Abalo took the overall win in smallbore with a shot of 588. Army currently sits in first place with a team aggregate shot of 2318 while defending champion Alaska-Fairbanks and Texas Christian University are in a two-way tie for second place with a shot of 2312 each.

 

The NCAA Championship will conclude Saturday when the Wolf Pack and its seven opponents take their shot in air rifle.
