Tan is a sophomore on the Wolf Pack women’s tennis team. She comes to Nevada from Paris, France.

 

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I like to hang out with my friends, go to sushi, theater and sleep!

                      

Q: Who are your role models/idols?

A: Roger Federer of course

 

Q: What was one thing you didn’t know about Nevada that surprised you when you got here?

A: It was kind of a desert!

 

Q: Do you have any nicknames?

A: Not really just Laeti

 

Q: What are some of your hobbies away from tennis?

A: Movies, music, soccer!

 

Q: Have you gotten a nickname from your teammates?

A: Little gadget, by my coach!

 

Q: Do you feel fortunate to be where you are today?

A: Yes, I think it is a great chance to get a full scholarship

 

Q: What do you think having a diverse group does for the team?

A: We learn about each other, about our different background, and it builds a team spirit

 

Q: Being from a different country, what are your impressions of Nevada and the States so far?

A: So different! American people are crazy sometimes in a good way...

 

Q: How was your first experience playing at the college level this spring?

A: It was nice. I like to travel with the team. We often have good time to be together.

 

Q: What has been the biggest challenge in your college experience so far?

A: English!

 

Q: Do you think you can learn as much from losing a big match as you can winning one?

A: Of course, and sometimes you learn more from losing because you know that you will not do the same mistakes again in the future

 

Q: If you could go back in time, would you choose a different sport?

A: No

 

Q: Do you have a pet?

A: Dog called Youki

 

Q: How would your teammates best describe you as?

A: Funny

 

Q: Where do you see yourself today if you were not playing tennis?

A: Probably in France on the beach with my friends!

 

Q: Who is the person that has most influenced your athletic career?

A: My father

 

Q: What is the best advice you have ever been given?

A: Do not do like me!

 

Q: If you were left alone on a desert island, what would be the three things you would take with you?

A: Boyfriend, music, fire
