WAC Tournament Title To Be Decided May 24-27
Fresno State(17-7) won its second consecutive Western Athletic Conference regular season title posting a 17-7 conference mark to outdistance Nevada(15-9) by two games.  Six of the WAC’s seven teams will now turn their attention to the conference tournament being held at Peccole Park on the Nevada campus.  FS won the tournament title last year at Pete Beiden Field in Fresno, Calif. defeating Hawai`i 8-4 in the title game but both teams advanced to the NCAA Tournament eventually falling in regional title games.
The 2007 winner of the WAC Tournament will again earn the WAC’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament the following weekend.  FS, Nevada, Hawai`i, Louisiana Tech, San Jose State, and Sacramento State will all be battling for the the tournament crown and the automatic bid.  FS and Sacramento State get it all started on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m., the second game of the day has  third seed Louisiana Tech taking on fourth seed San Jose State.  Second seeded Nevada takes on number five Hawai`i to close out day one at 7:00 p.m.
