Nevada:  Returns for his senior season in 2008...expected to again be in the Pack rotation when the season gets underway after earning a spot in the weekend rotation last spring...big right-hander who went 4-3 with a 4.84 ERA in 2007...hard thrower who gets the strikeout when needed...will again pitch numerous innings for the team this season.

2007(Jr.):  Earned a spot in the weekend rotation making 12 starts in his 16 appearances on the season...4-3 with a 4.84 ERA...named May 14-20 WAC Pitcher of the Week after winning two conference games in the same week, on Monday, he pitched eight innings allowing just two runs, six hits and walking one while striking out a career-high nine in Nevada’s 7-2 win vs. Hawaii then Sunday, he recorded his fourth win of the season by throwing five innings and allowing three runs in an 11-6 victory at San Jose State...third on the team in strikeouts(52), innings pitched(70.2), and starts(12)... four wins was fourth on the team...top outing of the season came in the first nationally televised game in the history of Peccole Park, that aired on CSTV, when he pitched 8.1 innings of shutout baseball vs. SJSU(4/15) before allowing a solo home run but struck out a six...recorded a strikeout in 15 of 16 appearances...three of his four wins came in WAC play with two vs. SJSU, one vs. Hawai`i while the other came vs. UNLV in the series clinching three-game sweep of the Rebels...three of his four victories came at home.

Columbia Basin College:  Pitched two seasons for coach Scott Rogers at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Wash...first-team East Division Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges selection his sophomore season and second-team All-NWAACC honoree his freshman year...7-1 with one save in 57.1 innings pitched his sophomore year... 1.10 ERA with 63 strikeouts in 12 games with nine being starts as a sophomore...team captured the 2006 East Region Tournament title and NWAACC Championship posting a 45-12 record.

High School:  Lettered in baseball(3) and football(2) at North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, Wash...played high school baseball for coach Steve Frease...honorable mention All-Narrows League Bridge Division baseball selection his sophomore year...team's most inspirational player as a senior...5-1 with a 2.25 ERA his senior season...team won the 2004 league championship.

Personal: General studies major...son of Bob and Stephanie Howe and Doug and Viola Mather... born Dec. 4, 1985...in his free time likes to listen to music, watch movies, and play basketball and football...sports heroes are Nolan Ryan and Jeremy Bonderman...chose Nevada over Oregon State and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
