RENO, Nev. Ray Kraemer of Kemah, Texas, has signed a national letter of intent to study and play basketball at the University of Nevada beginning in 2007-08, Wolf Pack head coach Mark Fox announced Tuesday.

“We are very excited to have Ray join our program,” Fox said. “He is a very versatile guard and will be a great benefit to our program.”

A 6-4, 200-pound guard, Kraemer comes to Nevada from Weatherford College in Weatherford, Texas. He was named the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year and earned first-team all-conference honors as a freshman in 2005-06. He finished second in the league in scoring at 18.0 points per game and was fourth in rebounding at 8.3 boards per contest that season. Kraemer did not play in 2006-07 due to a shoulder injury and will have three years of eligibility remaining at Nevada.

Kraemer attended Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas, where he was named the district MVP and an all-region selection as a senior. He helped Clear Creek to a district championship and the second round of the playoffs.

He joins Malik Cooke of Charlotte, N.C., and Armon Johnson of Reno, Nev., who both signed national letters of intent with Nevada in the fall.
