Reno, Nev. -  Junior Allison Hernandez (Volleyball), sophomore Miranda Montejo (Soccer) and freshmen Adam Liranzo (Football) and Jon Amaya (Football) spoke to approximately 300 local Latino students for the STAC (Start Thinking About College) program on campus on Friday, March 30.

The student-athletes participated on a panel discussion about college life as a Latino student-athlete.  After the panel discussion, student-athletes stayed and signed autographs for the middle school students. 

Start Thinking About College - STAC is a program which brings diverse middle school students to the university campus.  Diverse populations of middle school students are provided an introduction to higher education and the necessary preparation needed along the way.

In Friday’s event, there were approximately 300 Latino students representing middle schools throughout Reno, Sparks and Lake Tahoe.
