EUGENE, Ore. The Nevada women’s tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Oregon on Friday at the Student Tennis Center.
Nevada’s points in the match came from its top two players as freshman Maria Mizyuk won in the No. 1 position and sophomore Carolinne Bailly was victorious at the No. 2 spot. Mizyuk beat Dominika Dieskova 4-6, 7-6 (6) while Bailly topped Carmen Seremeta in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
But Oregon swept the other four singles matches and won the doubles point with two victories in the three matches. Nevada’s lone doubles win came from Alice Hall and Fiorella Velez, who topped ASnna Powaska and Monica Hoz de Vila in the No 3 spot, 8-7 (5).
The Wolf Pack will return to action on Wednesday at Long Beach State.
