“We are delighted to be here in this position. It has been a great year and I am proud of our team. They have played with a lot of class and they have never given up. We are very proud of this team and are excited for the tournament.”

 

Head Coach Mark Fox

On playing Creighton:

“They have a very good team. Nate Funk is a terrific guard and Anthony Tolliver is a very good frontline player. I think it is a very good matchup.”

 

On Creighton head coach Dana Altman:

“This is a very interesting matchup because of our friendship. He’s a good man and a good coach and they have a great team.  Not only do they have a terrific team, they have a terrific program. Because Dana and I are friends, certainly I’ve watched his team and have some familiarity with them.”

 

On the NCAA Tournament:

“We feel very fortunate to be in the position that we are in. I am excited for these kids have to have a chance to play in what I believe is the greatest sporting event in our country.”

“I feel good about the 28 wins, but this is where the season matters.  It can make the season even more memorable.”

 

On Nevada’s bracket match-ups:

“To this day, it burns.  This tournament is very fragile and you have to make the most of it.”

On being unable to play against Utah State in the WAC Tournament:

Freshman Brandon Fields

On playing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time:

“I was a little nervous at first but I’m very excited.  When I came here, the only thing on my mind was going to the tournament.”
