The University of Nevada rifle team downed Air Force 4528 to 4527 at home in Saturday’s season finale.
Nevada shot a 2279 in small bore and 2249 in air rifle. Air Force was close behind with a 2231 finish in small bore and 2296 in air rifle.
Freshman Martha Eisenhour (Reno, Nev.) shot a personal best and led the Wolf Pack with a 572 in air rifle. Freshman Kristi McGinley (Reno, Nev.) was a close second with a 566, which was also her personal best.
Junior Meghann Morrill (Verdi, Nev.) and sophomore Andrew Hickey (Sutter, Calif.) each shot a 571 in small bore to lead the Pack. Junior Lee Lemenager (Sutter, Calif.) and freshman Heather Horn (Kailua, Hawaii) also shot well in the air rifle competition with scores of 568 and 569.
The next action for the Pack is the NCAA National Championships in Fairbanks, Alaska on Mar. 9-10. Nevada will be represented by Morrill and Lemenager who qualified to compete in the small bore.
