TEAM: Nevada is second in the Western Athletic Conference in fielding percentage(.966), fifth in ERA(6.09), and fifth in hitting(.281)...Nevada went 4-8 in 12 road games to start the season...The Pack dropped its home opener to St. Mary’s on Tuesday 13-4, it marked the second time in three seasons the Gaels knocked off the Pack in the home opener...The Wolf Pack’s 10-6 win in the final game at Cal Poly snapped a 5-game losing skid...Head coach Gary Powers is in his 25th season of directing the Wolf Pack baseball program in 2007...Powers, the longest tenured coach in the history of Nevada athletics, coached his 1,300th game versus St. Mary’s College on Jan. 26...Peccole Park will be the site of the 2007 WAC Tournament May 24-27...Nevada was picked to finish fourth in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll behind Fresno State, Hawai`i, and Louisiana Tech.

ON THE MOUND: Senior pitcher Ryan Rodriguez, a 2007 preseason WAC selection, has made his 53rd consecutive start since coming to campus in 2004 at Pacific last weekend and has recorded a strikeout in all 53...In his last two starts Rodriguez has posted a 0.64 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 14 innings pitched...Rodriguez is tied with Barry Kuzminski(1980-83) for third with 24 career victories and one more would tie Mateo Miramontes(2001-03) for second...Rodriguez is also third in career innings pitched(304.2) and seven would move him to second past Miramontes as would 6 strikeouts into second with 260 for his career...Rodriguez has struckout 9 in each of his last two starts and retired the first 16 batters he faced at Cal Poly...Rodriguez leads the WAC with 29 strikeouts and 25.1 innings pitched...Nevada has used the same rotation the first four weekends of the season Rodriguez, Rod Scurry, and Mario Rivera but that will change this weekend when Buffalo comes to Reno as Kyle Howe will start on Saturday and Scurry moves back one day to Sunday...Rivera has won two of his four starts this season...Reliever Kody Keroher has struck out 10 in 11 innings of which seven have been looking...Keroher allowed one unearned run in four innings in the final game at Cal Poly to earn his first save at Nevada and it is the team’s only save this year...Keroher has one of everything this season, a win at St. Mary’s, a save at Cal Poly, and a loss at Pacific...Nevada’s bullpen has allowed 14-of-35(40%) inherited runners to score...13 pitchers have taken to the mound this season...Eight of Scurry’s 11 strikeouts have been looking...Scurry’s eight strikeouts looking is tied for first in the WAC...Ben Colton’s six appearances is tied for second in the WAC and his five relief appearances is tied for seventh.
