The top eight teams nationally get an invitation to the NCAA Championships which will be held in Fairbanks, Alaska, on Mar. 9-10.  The official invitations will be issued on Feb. 20.

“We were ranked ninth in the country going in and I believe that is where we will finish,” coach Fred Harvey said.  “We are perhaps a dozen points out of 4800 possible behind the eighth place team.”

The Pack had strong performances from sophomore Sarah Smith (580) and Morrill (578) in air rifle and freshman Heather Horn (571) in small bore.

“We shot our best match of the year, “ said Harvey.  “However, unofficially, I think it was not enough.”

The Pack’s next match is the season finale on Feb. 24 at home against Air Force.
