Reno, Nev. -  Junior outfielder/infielder Matt Bowman will miss the remainder of the 2007 baseball season after tearing his right pectoral muscle while sliding into second base in the Pack’s 12-8 loss at UC Riverside on Feb. 2.  Bowman, from Dayton, Nev., has not played since the injury and a second MRI taken on Tuesday revealed the tear.  He is expected to miss three to six months and could possibly undergo surgery.

He began the 2007 season as the Pack’s top returning hitter after leading the team with a .376 avg., 17 doubles and 82 hits last year.  He was named to the Wallace Award watch list which honors the collegiate player of the year.

Bowman started in the Pack’s first five games this year batting .358 with seven hits and two home runs in his first 19 at-bats.
