Pacific Palisades, Calif. -- Nevada sophomore Maria Mizyuk fell to Baylor's Lenka Broosova on Wednesday, ending Mizyuk's run at the Riviera All-American Championships.

Mizyuk, playing her sixth singles match in five days, lost 6-4, 6-1 as Broosova advanced to the main draw.

"It was 4-4 in the first set and then I think the length of the tournament caught up with her," third-year coach Sylvain Malroux said. "She tried to make some things happen but the other girl was very good."

In doubles play, Mizyuk and Caroline Bailly lost in the backdraw and saw their tournament come to a close.

"We had our chances but we just couldn't make it up," Malroux said. "We are close to being one of those top teams in the country but we have to learn to take advantage of the chances when we have them."

The Nevada team will resume action next week at a tournament hosted by Saint Mary's in Moraga, Calif.
