After two weeks off the University of Nevada rifle team will open their home schedule this weekend against UTEP. Saturday's match starts at 8 a.m. and Sunday's start at 7 a.m.
After finishing second place at the Horned Frog Invitational on Sept. 29 and picking up their first win of the season over UTEP on Sept. 30, coach Fred Harvey expects to continue the success his team has.
“We shoot our best fall matches in October at home,” Harvey said. “We haven’t been defeated at our home range in 12 years.”
Including the Horned Frog Invitational, this will be the third meeting these two programs will meet five more times this season.
All members are expected to shoot this weekend. Senior Meghann Morrill led the Wolf Pack in the air rifle at both the Horned Frog Invite and against UTEP. Sophomore Heather Horn led the Pack in the small bore against UTEP and junior Andrew Hickey led team in the small bore at the Horned Frog Invitational.
