The Nevada Wolf Pack men’s and women’s tennis teams will be in action this weekend as the women continue their spring season and the men officially open up play.
The men’s team will travel to Eugene, Ore., were it will take on three teams over the weekend. Nevada will me Idaho on Friday in dual action before facing Oregon on Saturday and Gonzaga on Sunday.
“Our team is excited to compete in our first team matches of the spring this week at Oregon,” second-year coach Chad Stoloff said. “We will be facing three tough programs and it should make for a wonderful weekend of exciting tennis.”
The men’s roster was bolstered this semester by the addtion of two players who both hail from France. The players are sophomore Benjamin David and freshman Laurent Garcin.
The women’s team, which opened up the season with a 1-1 start last week, will travel to Fresno State to take on the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Maria Mizyuk is off to a blistering start this season as she won both of her singles and doubles matches last week against Northern Arizona and UC Irvine while playing out of the No. 1 position.
