The Nevada women’s tennis team saw its record even out at 1-1 on the year after Sunday’s 5-2 loss at UC Irvine.
That defeat was on the heels of a 7-0 victory over Northern Arizona on Thursday.
Freshman Maria Mizyuk was the lone singles player to get a victory over UC Irvine as she topped Becky Bernhard 6-1, 6-4.
Mizyuk teamed with Caroline Bailly (the 39th-ranked doubles team in the country) to beat Bernhard and Clare Fermin 8-5. The Wolf Pack’s Fiorella Velez and Laetitia Tan topped Jayme Hu and Ali Borowicz 8-6.
UC Irvine is ranked 55th in the nation.
Nevada will return to action on Jan. 28 against Fresno State.
