PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. Nevada’s doubles team of sophomore Caroline Bailly and freshman Maria Mizyuk advanced in the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships on Saturday.
The duo topped Georgia’s Lara Fakhourv and Kelly Hundman 9-7 and marched into the second round of the pre-qualifying event with the victory.
Bailly and Mizyuk will take on the team of Brooke Beier and Randi Schuler from Purdue, the 55th-ranked doubles team in the country, Sunday morning. The winner of that match will play again on Sunday for the chance to make the qualifying round, which begins Tuesday.
Bailly, the 103rd ranked player in the country, lost her singles match on Saturday 7-5, 6-4 to Elizabeth Lumpkin.
