RENO, Nev. Sophomore Caroline Bailly and freshman Maria Mizyuk will play in the prestigious Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships this weekend in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Bailly, ranked 103rd in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, will play in the singles event and will team with Mizyuk for in the doubles.
“This tournament is the biggest event in collegiate tennis and having two players qualify is extraordinary,” said Wolf Pack women’s coach Sylvain Malroux. “Caroline and Maria will represent the Wolf Pack with pride and they have a real good chance to be successful.”
Pre-qualifying rounds start Saturday and players need to win three matches to make the qualifying rounds, which start on Tuesday. Winners of qualifying rounds will compete in the main draw starting on Thursday.
In doubles play, Bailly and Mizyuk will play Georgia’s Lara Fakhourv and Kelly Hundman Saturday morning. Later in the morning, Bailly will take on UCLA’s Elizabeth Lumpkin in singles play.
