Sacramento, Calif. - The Nevada track team finished first at the Sacramento Invitational on Saturday. The Pack was once again led by its jumpers and throwers who continue to be rocks for Nevada this year.
The Pack saw five first place finishes on Saturday. Kali Baker won the 800-meters with a time of 2:09.56. Ashley Mathis earned gold in the triple jump with a leap of 40' 3/4". Inger Appanaitis won both the shot put and javelin with throws of 45'6 1/2" and 149'02" respectively. Caira Hane was the last gold medalist for Nevada with her throw of 192'02" in the hammer throw.
The Pack's next action will be the 2006 WAC Championships. The meet will take place in Honolulu, Hawaii, May 10-13.
