Lubbock, Texas - University of Nevada infielder/outfielder Matt Bowman has been named to the 2007 Wallace Award watch list. The award honors the College Baseball Player of the Year and Bowman is one of 148 players named to the watch list for 2007. He is the second Wolf Pack player to appear on the Wallace Award watch list in the last three season as outfielder Jacob Butler was on the 2005 list.
Bowman a junior from Dayton, Nev. has played both infield and outfield for the Wolf Pack during his two seasons in the Silver & Blue. Last season playing primarily third base he led the team with a .376 average, 17 doubles and 82 hits. He boasts a career average of .341 in two seasons at Nevada. In 2006 he was second in the Western Athletic Conference in batting, hits, and led the league with 1.52 hits per game.
