Reno, Nev. The University of Nevada defeated TCU and UTEP to finish in first in team aggregate at its home opening match last weekend. Nevada shot a 4611 and won in air rifle and small bore led by senior Mike Tanoue.
Tanoue led all individuals in small bore with a score of 575. His score of 586 in air rifle led the Pack and was the second highest overall total .
The Pack claimed the top three spots in the small bore. Junior Meghan Morrill finished behind Tanoue with a score of 574 and freshman Heather Horn took third with a score of 567.
Junior Eric Okamoto gave a strong performance and shot a 584 in air rifle. Sophomore Sarah Smith shot well and contributed with a 582 in air rifle and 565 in small bore.
The Pack will face UTEP and TCU again on Oct. 28 in Austin, Texas. It will be the third time the three teams have competed in the same event.
