Reno, Nev. – Nevada baseball sophomore Joshua Zamora has been named the Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the week after leading the Pack to a 2-1 record to start the season. The third baseman batted a team-high .571 with a triple, a home run and three RBI.
The Foothill Ranch, Calif. native scored at least one run in every game, including two in Nevada’s 16-4 victory over No. 24 ranked Missouri State. In Saturday’s 4-0 victory against Texas State, Zamora was responsible for knocking in three of the Pack’s four runs, including a solo shot to lead off the seventh inning. After one weekend of play, Zamora leads the team with 13 total bases and a .929 slugging percentage.
