For the third time this season, Nevada women’s basketball senior Terae Briggs has been named the Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week.
Briggs posted a phenomenal week for the Wolf Pack, averaging a near double-double in the two games at 23.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Last Wednesday in the Mountain West opener at Utah State, Briggs poured in a career-high 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to record her sixth double-double of the year. In that game Briggs was near perfect from the free throw line going 12-of-14, both of which were career highs.
She followed up that performance with 16 points and seven rebounds against New Mexico on Saturday, connecting on 7-of-9 from the field. Briggs finished the week shooting 60 percent from the field and was a perfect 3-of-3 from the 3-point line. She added four blocks, two assists and two steals to her week as well.
Thirteen games into the season, Briggs ranks second in the Mountain West in scoring (16.8 ppg), fifth in rebounding (7.8 rpg), sixth in field goal percentage (52.3) and blocked shots (1.2 bpg) and eighth in free throw percentage (75.4). She needs 21 points to reach 800 in her Wolf Pack career.
