RENO, Nev. – Senior linebacker Malik Reed has been named the Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week after serving a huge role in Nevada’s 28-25 victory at Air Force this weekend. He led the team with three tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.

The Dothan, Ala. native was second on the Wolf Pack with seven tackles. The first fumble he forced was recovered by Lucas Weber and taken down to the Falcon one-yard line.  The second was a pivotal turnover in the second half that Reed recovered himself.

The Nevada defense was stellar on the afternoon, holding Air Force to 250 yards of total offense which ranked as the least the Pack has given up since it held UNLV to 110 in 2011. The Falcons also averaged 288.3 rushing yards per game, but Reed and the Pack defense held them to just 154.

Reed’s big day pushed Nevada’s record to 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in Mountain West competition. It marked the first road win for the Pack in the Jay Norvell era.
