After helping lead the Nevada softball team to back-to-back postseason appearances for the first time since 2008-09, sophomore Sadaria McAlister has received the Wolf Pack’s Bradley, Drendal & Jeanney Student-Athlete of the Week honors. The award marks the first of her career and second for a Nevada softball player this season, as the Wolf Pack received a total of seven weekly honors during its 2018 campaign.
Â
In the four Postseason NISC games, McAlister put together a .333 batting average, tying for the team lead with five hits, which included a multiple-hit performance. In the field, McAlister put together one of the best defensive outings of her career, leading all of the Wolf Pack’s outfielders with nine putouts and two assists on the weekend, resulting in a perfect fielding percentage.
Â
As Nevada’s leadoff hitter, McAlister also led the team with her 15 at bats in the four contests. With her stellar performance all weekend long, the Reno native earned Postseason NISC Regional All-Tournament honors, along with senior Erika Hansen and junior Alyssa Mendez.
