Campus Services & Resources Available to You

The University of Nevada campus has numerous services and resources available to its students. Complete information about all services and resources is available at www.unr.edu.

  • Library: The main library on the university campus is the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center. Hours of operation vary during the semester. Please check the website www.knowledgecenter.unr.edu for building and computer lab hours. Your student ID card is your library card. For more information, call (775) 784-6528.
  • Student Achievement Center: The William N. Pennington Student Achievement Center brings together vital student centers formerly scattered throughout the campus under one roof. This new 78,000 square foot facility contains the Writing Center, Math Center, Tutoring Center, Career Services, Advising Center, Student Veterans Affairs, Disabilities Resource Center, Counseling Services, Trio & McNair Scholars, and Student Faith Based Groups. In addition to these student resource centers, there are an assortment of student collaboration rooms similar to the ones in the Knowledge Center and DeLaMare Library, and several hundred computers spread across various computer labs on different floors. There is also an on-site restaurant on the second floor called the DeliNV, which provides an assortment of sandwiches and salads, as well as local Hub Coffee.
  • Disability Resource Center: This office functions to specifically assist those students with certified or suspected learning disabilities. For hours of operation or information about services that are offered, call (775) 784-6000. Athletics academics advisors can also help student-athletes connect with the DRC.
  • University Financial Aid Office: This office provides information and applications regarding federal loans and grants, academic scholarships, Pell Grants and emergency loans. To prevent any problems, it is imperative that you advise the Wolf Pack Compliance Office regarding the receipt of any additional funding that may affect your athletic scholarship. For information, call (775) 784-4666.
  • The Counseling Center: This is the primary counseling office for students at the university. Both group and individual counseling are offered as well as substance abuse counseling. All counseling sessions are confidential, and there is no charge to students. The Counseling Center is located in suite 420 in the Pennington Student Achievement Center. Same-day appointments are available by calling (775) 784-4648.
  • Equal Opportunity & Title IX: The Equal Opportunity and Title IX office ensures that students and staff have the right to an education and to work and advance in employment on the basis of merit, ability, and potential without fear of discrimination.   • Sexual Assault Hotline: If you are a victim of sexual assault or sexual misconduct, please contact the EO/TIX Office at (775) 784-1547 or the Sexual Assault/Sexual Misconduct hotline at (775) 784-1030. A complete list of resources is available at https://www.unr.edu/eotix/resources.
  • Educational Opportunity and Access Programs: This office is dedicated to the advancement and retention of minority students in higher education. A wide variety of services and information is available such as career counseling, personal guidance, and job referral services. For more information, call (775) 784-4936.
  • International Students: International students and student-athletes have special concerns and needs. If you have questions pertaining to your international student status, please contact the Office of International Students and Scholars on the first floor of the Fitzgerald Student Services Building or call (775) 784-6874.
  • Joe Crowley Student Union: The union provides services and conveniences that members of the college community need in their daily lives. Services include the ASUN Bookstore, food services, a convenience store and more. For more information please call (775) 784-6505.
  • Career Studio: The Nevada Career Studio is the hub for career education for all students at the University of Nevada, Reno. The Studio is designed as a flexible space that adapts to your needs at any stage of the job search. No appointments are necessary. The Career Studio is located in suite 208 of the Pennington Student Achievement Center. Call (775) 682-7114 or email nvcareerstudio@unr.edu for more information.   • Center for Student Cultural Diversity: The Center provides programs and services that support the academic and social success for ALL students at the University of Nevada through advisement, leadership development, counseling, student organizations, outreach and intercultural programming. We offer a multitude of opportunities for student involvement, support, networking and social interaction. The center has an open door policy and is located on the third floor of the Joe Crowley Student Union.
